Samsung Finally Unveils the Galaxy Ring and Sheds More Light On The Features It Will Offer

Now that the MWC 2024 is underway, Samsung has decided to finally unveil the Galaxy Ring. The smart ring first showed up during the Galaxy S24 launch, and now, the South Korean tech giant is finally sharing more information with us on what we should expect from this ring.

Galaxy Ring looks like an excellent wearable for those who don't prefer smartwatches. Too bad we'll have to wait for it to hit the retail

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Ring is going to have a long battery life, which does make sense since it is just a smart ring that can track a number of metrics. Samsung vice-president Dr. Hon Pak was pretty vague about the battery life, as well, talking about how the ring will last more than a couple of days. Our best bet? It is better to wait for the reviews whenever the ring becomes available.

Samsung even talked about how it has been working on increasing the battery life ahead of the launch later this year. This does mean that the Galaxy Ring is not available to buy just yet, which takes us back to the speculation board. The company even talked about how users can choose to have either a longer battery life or more functionality depending on what they want.

Additionally, Samsung mentioned how the Galaxy Ring is going to offer "leading" sensors. Again, the company was tight-lipped about the type of sensors that will be used in the ring, but it did talk about how the sleep-tracking functionality will be able to track your heart rate, sleep latency, and night movement. The ring will also offer a vitality score, which will be used to measure your physical and mental preparedness, as well as "booster cards" for pre-defined health goals.

The company also talked about other health-related features that will be available on the Galaxy Ring. For instance, the ring will also offer fertility tracking thanks to a collaboration with Nature Cycles. The ring will work with Galaxy Watch, so if you want to wear both devices at the same time, there should not be any issues. You can also choose to wear the ring or the watch on their own.

Samsung, of course, has not disclosed the release date or the pricing of the Galaxy Ring, but past rumors have talked about how the ring could be released at the second major Unpacked event that should be taking place in July or August later this year. So, our best hope is to wait for the event.
