Samsung aiming to launch a Galaxy Watch with microLED in 2025

Samsung seems to be riding the financial high as the company has talked about some really good news during its earnings call earlier today. Aside from mentioning how the future is looking brighter for the company, the South Korean firm also talked about its upcoming Galaxy Ring and expanded the Galaxy Watch lineup with more premium variants.

A premium Galaxy Watch is certainly what is needed from Samsung at this stage

Now, it is worth noting that this is not the first time we have heard about a more premium Galaxy Watch. There have been multiple rumors about a more expensive variant - one event went as far as telling us that the next watch could feature a MicroLED display. Of course, all of these are rumors until proven otherwise, but now that Samsung has chimed in, there is enough to go about.

Samsung, being Samsung, did not reveal much about this premium variant of the Galaxy Watch, but considering how the company has been releasing some really nice products over the past couple of years, it is going to be interesting to see how this one measures up. I am also really interested in finding out how the new watch is going to compete against the other variants in the series and, most importantly, how much it is going to cost.

You see, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 starts at $800, which is a pretty penny for a smartwatch. If Samsung is looking forward to competing with the Watch Ultra 2 with its own Galaxy Watch Ultra, you can expect similar pricing, given both companies normally price their products similarly. If that does become the case, then Samsung's wearable will become the most expensive mainstream smartwatch powered by Wear OS; of course, I am excluding the niche offerings from the likes of Tag Heuer.

As far as the release date is concerned, the Galaxy Watch 7 series, along with all the other devices that Samsung has in store for now, are going to go official on July 10th, later this year. Based on the information we have, the event will go live in Paris, and Samsung will announce many new devices, including the Galaxy Ring. So, if you are eager to see what the company has in store for us, you will have to wait and see.
