It appears that Samsung wants the hype train surrounding the Galaxy Ring to continue and be even stronger. It does make sense from the company's perspective, too. After all, it is the first time Samsung has decided to get into the smart ring category, so we are definitely looking forward to seeing what is coming for us. Now, a new report suggests that the company has set an initial production value and is also looking forward to handling any bottlenecks that might come in the way.
Samsung is just as excited about the Galaxy Ring as we are, and for all the right reasons
A report from The Elec suggests that Samsung is going to start mass-producing the Galaxy Ring sometime in May. This makes perfect sense because the ring is supposed to debut in early July. The initial production volume that the company is aiming for is 400,000 units. Not only that, Samsung is not facing any part shortage at the moment, which will allow the South Korean giant to increase production if the demand surpasses the supply.
However, the report is not all good news, as it also suggests that at launch, the Galaxy Ring could lack some medical functionalities that are found in the Galaxy Watch series. This is only temporary and should disappear once Samsung has the necessary medical device certifications. This means that features such as blood pressure, ECG, and other similar features might come to the ring later down the road.
Despite revealing the Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024, Samsung has still managed to keep a tight lid on the leaks. There is not much we know aside from some rumors that suggest that the ring could be used as a complete fitness companion, but it could also be used for making wireless payments and handling other similar functionality. We really do not know how much truth there is to these rumors.
As far as the release date is concerned, based on all the information that we have received recently, the Galaxy Ring is said to come out in early July. The possible release date for this smart ring, along with all the other products, is 10th July, so we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that is when the reveal eventually happens.
