Samsung announces Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 with an AirPods like design and features

Samsung's new Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds 3 have been announced, and major changes have been made to the design and feature set. The company seems to be following Apple's route in terms of looks and utilities, and while this is essentially not a bad thing, the similarities are uncanny from certain angles.

Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are almost identical to the AirPods Pro in design and features

The Galaxy Buds 3 is available for $179 for the base model, while the more 'Pro' versions are priced at $249, and there are some key differences between the features. In terms of design, the Galaxy Buds 3 are very reminiscent of the AirPods, which means that the company has adopted a stemmed look that fits better in your ear. However, the fitting is subjective to each user, but the new design is more than a welcome addition. The case of the Buds 3 has followed the same design as well, which now comes with a lid and LED lights.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also features the same design as the AirPods Pro, which is a fresh look for the buds, but it remains to be seen how they hold up against Apple's offering. The new silver color looks stunning, though, but it is grayer than silver, to be fair. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro case is transparent, giving it a little more character than the AirPods.

The Buds 3 Pro has a "blade" feature on the side, which is basically a touchpad that responds to touch and squeeze gestures. However, the blade is only available on the 'Pro' as the standard one only looks similar. As for the performance. The Galaxy Buds 3 comes with an 11mm driver, while the 'Pro' model comes with a 10.5mm driver. Both models come with Active Noise Cancelation, but only the 'Pro' gets the "Voice Detect" feature that adjusts the volume when you speak.

Other than this, both models feature 360 Audio support and 30 hours of battery life with the case. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro also comes with Hi-Fi audio at 24-bit and 96kHz, but only when the buds are paired to a Galaxy-branded smartphone running One UI 6.1.1 or higher. Once the wearables are connected to Galaxy smartphones running One UI 6.1.1 with Galaxy AI features, the new buds can use the new "Listening mode" for live translation.

The Galaxy Buds 3 are available for $179, and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are available for $249 in the United States and you can order them starting today.
