Samsung wants to dominate the OLED panel market aggressively in 2025 by aiming for a significantly higher shipment number.

After Dominating the QD-OLED Market Convincingly, Samsung to Increase its Growth Rate by 50% in 2025

Compared to 2021, when Samsung started its OLED panel business, the company has come a long way, reaching over 1 million unit shipments in a single year as of 2024. The company shipped less than 10,000 units in 2021 but soon increased the shipments to around 160,000 units in 2022, 820,000 units in 2023, and a whopping 1.43 million units in 2024.

Samsung isn't stopping here but is aiming for a 50% higher production this year. We don't know if it can achieve over 2.0 million shipments this year, but it looks like a possibility since the market is now flooded with a lot of high-end OLED panels. Samsung's QD-OLED panel is even better when it comes to color accuracy, brightness, and reliability as the Quantum Dot layer helps the OLED panel with better visuals.

The company is said to be increasing mass production aggressively this year. Samsung's OLED panels have been doing pretty well in the market worldwide and as more companies enter the market, the competition has become stronger. However, Samsung is still able to maintain its hold on the market, and, as of the end of 2023, it held around 80% of the total OLED market.

These OLED panels are used in high-end gaming monitors, TVs, and professional displays and there is no denying that OLED panels excel in almost every area compared to traditional LCD panels, particularly in contrast and better color reproduction. Last year, Samsung tried expanding its OLED business by adding more OLED monitors to its inventory, and recently, it began introducing its flagship QD-OLED panels featuring high resolutions and high refresh rates.

MSI's MPG 322URX is one of those that we have reviewed recently and offers 4K resolution at 240Hz on a 32-inch screen size. The QD-OLED panel is supplied by Samsung and, just like it, we also have 1440p QD-OLED panels, rated at up to 500 Hz refresh rate. These monitors not only offer excellent visuals but are incredibly fast and responsive for fast-paced competitive gaming as well.

There are even more brands that are utilizing Samsung's QD-OLED displays, such as Gamemax, which recently introduced its VISION GMX32UCDM 4K 240Hz display at $1099, and even the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM, which offers high-end specs at 27-inch screen size.
