NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 -  Performance & Review

For the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5070, NVIDIA claimed a 20% performance uplift in the same native RT (Non-DLSS) gaming scenarios versus the RTX 4070 Ti & RTX 4070. The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 should be great for native 1440p gaming.

In terms of product positioning, the top four Blackwell GPU options are designed for 4K gaming in mind with DLSS 4, but natively, you can expect the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 to be the best for those scenarios.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 should be great for native 1440p gaming.

  • GeForce RTX 5070 Ti vs RTX 4070 Ti (Native RT / No DLSS) = +20%
  • GeForce RTX 5070 vs RTX 4070 (Native RT / No DLSS) = +20%

In our extensive review of the RTX 5070, we managed to conclude that the GPU isn't much of an upgrade when you compare it with the likes of the RTX 4070 SUPER, since it's only 5% faster in some scenarios, but when you factor in technologies like DLSS 4 and Frame Gen, the Blackwell GPU lineup is expected to see a massive performance boost overall. Meanwhile, in our review of the RTX 5070 Ti, the card delivered a nice 10-15% gain in performance over the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

Following is how the RTX 5070 Ti stacks up in our gaming benchmark review versus the 4070 Ti SUPER & the 4070 Ti:

Of course, when you look at one of the compelling options in the budget segment from the NVIDIA camp, the RTX 5070 certainly is one of the better choices, if you somehow managed to grab an SKU around its MSRP pricing, but yet again, this is a pretty difficult task in modern-day retail markets. The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is also an impressive card given its MSRP, and competes well against AMD's RX 9070XT.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 Pricing

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti features an MSRP of $749, while the GeForce RTX 5070 features an MSRP of $549. Both variants have an MSRP that is $50 US lower than their predecessors, but yet again, judging by the inventory situation we saw in 2025, it was a pretty rare sight to see Blackwell GPUs being retailed at their MSRP for a consistent period of time.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 - Release Date & Availability

NVIDIA's RTX 50 Blackwell lineup was showcased at CES 2025, and the RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 have been available on retail shelves since Q1 2025. Since then, the supply has been at conservative levels due to DRAM shortages. Currently, there's no way of obtaining the RTX 5070 Ti or the RTX 5070 at their MSRPs. (writing as of 2/19/2026).

While you are here, you can read one of our many RTX 5070 Ti & 5070 reviews in the links below:

You can buy the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 on NVIDIA's official marketplace or through these retailers:

FAQ

What CPU is best to pair with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 graphics card?

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti & RTX 5070 are high-end graphics cards, but given that you are mostly going to be using them for 1440p and 1080p gaming, the CPU requirements aren't as aggressive as the high-end 5090 or 5080 GPUs; as such, you will require a decent processor to ensure that your GPU isn't bottlenecked. You can check out our recommended processors here.

In short, we advise a fast and latest AMD Ryzen 5/7/9 (3D V-Cache suitable) or Intel i5/i7/i9 (13th/14th/Series 2) chip for a guaranteed and stable gaming experience.

Should I be worried about using a 16-pin cable/adapter on the RTX 5070 Series?

To answer this one as short as possible, the 16-pin (12V-2x6) connector used on the RTX 5070 series is much safer than the previous design. If you have the cable inserted properly, then you shouldn't worry about much, but it is best to ensure that your graphics card is working properly by checking the cable routinely and monitoring the 12V status through any decent hardware monitoring application (such as HWiNFO, etc). The most common signs of 16-pin cables going bad are random monitor flickering, off-colored 16-pin inputs, and the 12V voltages falling below 11.6V. In that case, it's best to get a new cable, and if the problem persists, make sure to get your card replaced under warranty.

Also, there are fewer reports of the RTX 5070 series being affected by 16-pin issues since it has a lower power input versus the 500W+ rating of the RTX 5090.

When are RTX 5070 Ti & 5070 prices going to return to normal?

As of right now, we are in the midst of a serious DRAM shortage, and reports suggest these will last until 2027. So there's no telling when the pricing returns to normal levels, but it is best to check your local retail sites for the best deals on the RTX 5070 & RTX 5070 Ti.
