November deals are starting to roll in as we inch closer to the biggest sales of the year. But, before you start getting overwhelmed by all that Black Friday brings, perhaps a few days of diving into the research would help you figure out what products you need and which ones are actually going to be a valuable part of your life - beyond the holiday madness. Our pitch? Roborock Saros 10R, the thinnest Roborock ever released.
The automated cleaning giant introduced its 2025 flagship robovac at CES earlier this year. With its latest flagship, Roborock reimagined its obstacle-avoidance system by introducing the StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, which mounts 3 solid-state LIDAR sensors for mapping, navigation, and obstacle avoidance, removing the tall mechanical sensor from the top, and hence, making it thinner to be able to seamlessly go under low-lying furniture. This is a groundbreaking development in the industry as it shifts from 2D sensing in standard LDS to 3D Time-of-Flight system for flawless mapping. Featuring hyper-responsive path planning and VertiBeam lateral obstacle avoidance tech, this advanced take on navigation also equips Saros 10R to easily handle homes with complex layouts or floor obstacles.

The Roborock Saros 10R also features the new DuoDivide main brush - a design that includes two brush rolls with a gap in the middle to channel hair, preventing tangles. The new FlexiArm Riser side brush with a spiral arc extends for even better corner coverage. The AdaptiLift chassis mounts thresholds/furniture of up to 4cm and lifts the mop on the carpets thanks to the omnidirectional wheels and wheel-lift mechanism. The mopping system also receives an upgrade with electronically controlled water dispensing, and the mops extend with FlexiArm Riser Mopping when detecting edges for improved coverage.

Advanced navigation, effortless chassis lift, improved edge coverage, and upgraded mopping are definitely some of the highlights of the Roborock Saros 10R, making it a flagship automated cleaning product that we deserve in 2025.
Roborock Saros 10R: industry-first 4x liftable design
The design of Saros 10R would catch anyone by surprise. Not only the chassis, but the side brush, the main brush, and the mops - all 4 are lifted as needed during the cleaning process. The chassis lifts up to 10mm while cleaning mid-to-high pile carpets and 2-4cm when crossing the thresholds. The side brush lifts for the above 2 scenarios, but also during mop-only mode, quick mapping, and when returning to the dock. The mop can additionally lift up to 22mm during vacuum-only mode and mop drying. Finally, the main brush is lifted when crossing thresholds, returning to dock, mop-only mode, and during quick mapping.
This ingenious design means you can have a dry-wet-rug situation in your kitchen, and no mess will get dragged around and the mop will avoid the carpet. It also results in effortless movement around thresholds, as Saros 10R has the industry-first double-layer threshold crossing of 3cm+1cm. The robovac will adaptively optimize the best strategy by lifting its omni wheels and drive wheels, ensuring uninterrupted cleaning without getting stuck and needing human maneuvering. It can lift these wheels independently of each other, depending on the obstacle/threshold Saros 10R is trying to navigate, and then remembers the best strategy to deal with that specific threshold for future navigation.

Navigation remains one of the sore points of automated cleaning, and the adaptive design that literally allows the entire robovac to move its parts to maneuver around independently is not only beautiful to watch but also an amazingly utilitarian design.
Multifunctional Dock 4.0 with 10-in-1 convenience
While docks have become an almost expected add-on of a robot vacuum by this point, it's always interesting to see if companies are adding anything new to the regular wash-dry features. The Roborock Saros 10R includes the following 10 features in its powerful dock:
- Auto Dust Emptying
- Auto Detergent Dispenser
- 55c Heated Air Drying
- 176F (80c) Hot Water Mop Washing
- 80c Hot Water Dock Self-Cleaning
- 2.5 hour Fast Charging & Off-Peak Charging
- Intelligent Dirt Detection for Re-Wash & Re-Mop
- Detachable Self-Cleaning Modules
- Auto Mop Removal
- Warm Water Auto-Refilling
The Dock features a 4L clean water tank, a 3L used tank, a 2.5L dust bag, and a 590ml detergent dispenser.

AI enters the cleaning game
Of course, artificial intelligence is here in every facet of our lives, and this may be one of the cases where it's actually needed. Using the powers of smart intelligence, you can choose to use Roborock's SmartPlan mode to enable the robot to identify your environment and utilize AI to create cleaning strategies. This will automatically deep clean rooms that haven't been cleaned for a while, rewash after using areas like kitchens and bathrooms, and use lower power and reduced noise during Do-Not-Disturb periods.
Mixed Pattern Cleaning is another interesting mode that would make cleaning-obsessed people happy, as the Saros 10R automatically shifts its movement to a direction perpendicular to the previous cleaning task, ensuring next-level thorough cleaning! To enable this, you'll need to head to the app > Settings > Floor Cleaning Setting > Cleaning Pattern > Mixed Pattern Cleaning.
Finally, on the app and usage front, the voice assistant would continue to work regardless of the internet connectivity. Just say "Hello Rocky" and your cleaning partner would follow your instructions - internet or not! Or, connect with smart home systems like Amazon Alexa or Google Home if you have a preferred assistant.

Typically, when discussing a smart vacuum cleaner, we tend to focus on features such as suction power. But, by now, vacuums are great at cleaning floors, and it's time to focus on other aspects where some are pushing harder than the rest to make versatile cleaning more efficient. Roborock's Saros 10R is definitely leading the pack both through its design changes and navigational / AI upgrades.
