Every once in a while, MSI releases an iconic new GPU that stands tall above all. We have seen the likes of Lightning and Evoke before and this time, the company has a new variant at showcase, the EXPERT. Just like all previous releases, the MSI EXPERT sets itself out with a premium look that follows a very traditional approach used by NVIDIA's Founders Edition coolers and takes it to the next level.
The NVIDIA Founders Edition coolers are some of the best-looking designs out there, which offer both great looks and cooling. The EXPERT aims to achieve the same but elevate the looks with the company's unique touch. The champagne gold touch and the flow-through design are perfected to the level where the card operates so silently that you can barely hear it. The enclosed shroud gives a more premium feel with no exposed heatsinks. Then there's that fabulous grill that you all might have seen in the featured image. It works as intended, both as a visual extender and as a cooling pass-through, similar to how the front bumper of a Mercedes Benz works.
The performance of the MSI RTX 4080 SUPER EXPERT is phenomenal as it blazes through anything you throw at it. 4K gaming, Ray Tracing & even Path Tracing are easily handled by this enthusiast chip and it runs very cool too which is always a plus. The new Frozr fans work great but the real miracle is under the hood with the V-shaped heatsink design and the use of a vapor chamber for both the GPU and the memory. The EXPERT is an icon of performance and beauty, it is a graphics card that takes a radically different approach and nails it in its first outing. The card is a bit pricey compared to the reference model but it will certainly attract the enthusiast community who want good-looking hardware within their PCs or those who are going for the non-RGB aesthetics while still retaining a beautiful design. We hope to see more such efforts by MSI across its GPU lineup in the future.
