Ever since the company teased the Galaxy S25 Edge at the Galaxy Unpacked and now at the MWC 2025, the tech community seems hooked on the new model the tech giant is trying its best to keep under wraps. While there have been sparse details on what to expect from the upcoming phone, Samsung did assure users that the slim form factor would not compromise the durability of the device. A renowned leaker might have just confirmed how much the Edge model would weigh.

It seems that slim phones are the next category that companies are trying to establish themselves in, especially with the phones getting thicker and heavier to hold due to upgraded camera layouts and attempts to offer better resolutions. While users appreciate the improvements in the camera results, the phones keep getting bigger and are increasingly uncomfortable to hold. Apple and Samsung both are bringing their slimmer form factors to appeal to audiences expecting better aesthetics and ergonomics.
While the rumor mill has been churning for quite some time, we were able to get little information on the upcoming S25 Edge, as Samsung has been trying to maintain its secrecy. However, a renowned tipster, Ice Universe, gives away the weight of the new thin phone. He took it to X to confirm that the Galaxy S25 Edge would weigh 162g and have a thickness of 5.84mm, which is noticeably thinner than the Galaxy S25 Plus, which stands at 7.2mm thick.

The leaker also goes on to suggest that the pricing of the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be similar to the S25 Plus, with the estimated starting price being around $999, which would place the phone in the same premium category despite its compact design. The slim phone is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The camera layout is expected to feature a 200MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. However, to achieve the slim design, the phone might come with a smaller battery, standing at 3,900mAh. Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy S25 Edge in April, with official sales beginning in May. More details will emerge as the launch date approaches, so stay tuned.
