Red Dead Redemption 2

Having been originally released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and not having received a current generation update, Red Dead Redemption 2 does not support ray tracing, which is a shame, as it would make the game look even more incredible than it already does.

A new 8K video put together by Digital Dreams shows the latest entry in the series by Rockstar Games running with the Complete Ray Tracing Reshade preset by Nice Guy, a screen space ray tracing shader that lets users add global illumination with effects like Diffuse Illumination and Specular Reflection, ambient occlusion and glossy reflections to any game which is far superior to similar shader available online, as well as with modded DLSS 3 and one hundred other mods. You can check out for yourself how great the game looks with these mods in the video below.

Despite having been released five years ago, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still one of the most impressive open-world games ever released. The game by Rockstar, which is now available at a reduced price on Steam as part of this year's Winter Sale, isn't just pretty to look at but an engaging experience that no fan of open-world games should skip, as highlighted by Alessio in his review.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be perfect, but its minor shortcomings are like tiny blemishes on a stunningly beautiful face. In a way, they only serve as a reminder of how this world isn't made for perfection. Every single aspect of the game will put you into the very shoes of an outlaw roaming America with his gang as they try to escape the law long enough to make the money needed to disappear for good. It's an epic, memorable and engrossing tale which also elevates the open world genre to new heights with the brand new interaction system, a cast of unforgettable characters and a ton of high-quality content to play for a long time.
