The highly anticipated Red Dead Online 'Frontier Pursuits' update due to introduce specialist 'roles' to the multiplayer mode is dropping early next week, on September 10th, and Rockstar Games shared a trailer for it today.
Specialist Roles are unique paths of progression, each providing their own experiences allowing you to become even more deeply connected to your character and the choices you make as you inhabit the world of Red Dead Online. With each Role, you’ll always have new pursuits to embark upon that lead to unique items and skills as you progress, in addition to cash and gold payouts.
As you progress through each role, you will unlock new items, benefits and skills that enhance each role and your experiences across the world, from gun spinning tricks to improved Eagle Eye and more.
Each Role automatically earns Role XP as you complete a Role’s activities. Role XP counts towards your progression through 20 Role Ranks. You will reach a new tier of distinction every 5 ranks: Novice, Promising, Established and Distinguished.
Unlocking a Role Rank earns Role Tokens and at certain ranks you’ll also unlock new skills such as the Bounty Hunter ability to duck for protection on horseback. Each tier also has a kit of items that are unique to the Role and can be unlocked to purchase using Role Tokens.
Additionally, on the same day, Rockstar will also introduce an 'Outlaw Pass' to the game.
Launching September 10th alongside the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club, The Outlaw Pass is an upgrade that offers even more items and the kind of perks that befit a debonair, well-traveled outlaw - at a heavily reduced cost. For 35 Gold Bars, members who sign up for The Outlaw Pass will receive an abundance of Pass Rewards including exclusive clothing, distinctive styles for your armaments, adornment for any campsite, bonus cash, special vouchers and much more. Progress through all 70 Ranks to take advantage of every benefit including bonus Gold Bar gifts amounting to 35 Gold Bars.
All Outlaw Pass Rewards up to your current Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club Membership Rank unlock instantly once The Outlaw Pass is purchased, and everything you unlock between September 10th and November 18th will persist after the Membership period expires.
