Back in June 2025, PlayStation announced 'Project Defiant,' a new wireless fight stick built for use with PlayStation consoles and PCs. A month later, it was officially revealed as FlexStrike, and now, nearly a year from its original reveal, we have an August 6, 2026, release date set for FlexStrike, alongside the launch of Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls that same day. FlexStrike also isn't the only new PlayStation accessory set to launch this year.
Announced alongside FlexStrike's release date is the release date for a new 27" monitor from PlayStation that comes equipped with a 2K QHD display with HDR, support for VRR and up to 240Hz (though you'd only reach those frame rates with a jacked-up PC, not a PS5 or PS5 Pro). The monitor was initially revealed in November 2025, and will now launch on August 27, 2026.
Lastly, the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers that were also revealed last year (September 2025) got a small update, though unfortunately we don't yet have a proper release date for them. PlayStation did, however, confirm they will arrive at some point "later this year."
These accessories follow Sony's launch of its InZONE line of products, tailored both for PC and PlayStation console players. It's interesting to note that despite the InZONE line featuring multiple monitors, this new upcoming monitor does not bear the InZONE name.
Of course, that could be nothing more than a point of distinction for future InZONE products, but it's also interesting to consider now that PlayStation's era of putting its single-player games on PC has seemingly ended. Perhaps this is just a monitor meant to be marketed more towards console gamers, or perhaps its another layer of PlayStation trying to distance itself from its PC efforts, even if it'll continue to put its multiplayer games on PC.
Meanwhile, it's no surprise to see FlexStrike arrive the same day as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, as it was revealed during the same State of Play event where Fighting Souls was first revealed. You can pre-order the FlexStrike as early as June 12, 2026, and it'll cost $199.99 USD | €199.99 EURO | £179.99 GBP | ¥34,980 JPY (including tax). As for the monitor, you can pre-order it as soon as June 5, 2026, and it'll cost $349.99 USD | ¥49,980 JPY (including tax). There's no update on how much the Pulse Elevate speakers will cost just yet.
With the June 2025 State of Play connecting the FlexStrike and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, its release date reveal today also potentially tees up another Fighting Souls trailer in tomorrow's upcoming State of Play.
