Alan Wake 2 and CONTROL Ultimate Edition will join the likes of Resident Evil Requiem soon, as the two games developed by Remedy Entertainment will receive support for the new version of the PlayStation 5 Pro PSSR upscaler. This update will allow users to "explore the Oldest House and Bright Falls with a new level of visual fidelity," the developer announced on Bluesky.

In announcing PSSR 2.0 support, Remedy provided the first details of the upgrade, promising "noticeable improvements in image stability and clarity of motion."

Although we have only seen the PlayStation 5 Pro's new PSSR upscaler in action in Resident Evil Requiem so far, the results are incredibly promising, delivering considerably better image quality than the previous version of the technology.

In this regard, the differences will be easier to spot starting next week when Crimson Desert launches on March 19. In an early analysis of the PlayStation 5 Pro version, the tech experts at Digital Foundry provided footage of the game's current build, which still uses the previous version of PSSR, leaving something to be desired in terms of image quality. As the open-world game developed by Pearl Abyss has been confirmed to use the new version of the upscaler to hit 4K resolutions, it will be easy to compare pre-release footage with launch build footage to see exactly where PSSR 2.0 delivers the most significant improvements.
