There's still a lot we don't know about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles. Rumors hint at the fact that both will be very powerful, and it seems like the PlayStation 5 is going to be even more powerful than most expected.

A few hours ago, Komachi leaked Oberon sample clocks, which is assumed to be the same as Ariel and Gonzalo, both considered to be the name of the APU for the PlayStation 5. The gen2 number is extremely high, and it would put the console ahead of the AMD Navi 5700 GPU and almost on par with the RTX 2080 in terms of power.

BREAKING: THIS IS PS5. According to this leak- the GPU will be clocked at an insane 2ghz.

This equates to 9.2 TF on the RDNA architecture. Or roughly 14 TF on the GCN Architecture aka over double the power of the X1X. Almost RTX2080 power.

Very little is currently known about the PlayStation 5 console, as already mentioned. The console’s CPU will be based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen Line and the GPU will support ray tracing.

The CPU is based on the third generation of AMD’s Ryzen line and contains eight cores of the company’s new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture. The GPU, a custom variant of Radeon’s Navi family, will support ray tracing, a technique that models the travel of light to simulate complex interactions in 3D environments.

The PlayStation 5 console has yet to be officially unveiled. We will keep you updated on it as soon as more come in on the matter, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
