The new IPS gaming monitor caters to gamers who want to afford a high-refresh-rate operation without breaking the bank.

Philips Introduces Evnia 27M2N5201P 27-inch IPS Gaming Monitor, Featuring 260 Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms GtG Response Time, and HDR10 Support at $215

Popular monitor maker, Philips, has introduced a new affordable offering for gamers that are on a tight budget, but want some competitive specifications for fast-paced gaming. Most budget gaming monitors these days offer over 200 Hz refresh rate under $200, and the newly launched Evnia 27M2N5201P can touch 260 Hz refresh rate for ultra smooth gaming experience.

The Evnia 27M2N5201P offers a 27-inch screen, featuring a fast IPS panel that runs at just 1 ms GtG response time. This makes it an ideal choice for eSports gaming and will be a perfect starting point for serious gamers who want to compete in games like CS 2 and Valorant. The gaming monitor offers HDR10 support as well, delivering vivid image quality, but considering it offers a Full HD resolution (1080p), it delivers lower PPI (Pixel Per Inch) compared to 24-inch IPS FHD monitors, which means lower sharpness.

Nonetheless, the monitor runs at a 240 Hz refresh rate out of the box, and needs to be overclocked to reach 260 Hz refresh rate. A 20 Hz refresh rate may not be noticeable, but those who can notice the difference can still benefit slightly. Philips Evnia 27M2N5201P brings Adaptive Sync for tear-free gameplay, low input lag for competitive gaming, and ships with Philips Evnia Precision Center software to tweak various display settings.

At the back, the monitor brings AI-Enhanced Ambiglow, featuring ambient RGB lighting that can sync with the audio and video content. This makes gaming and watching videos more immersive, and also offers customizations. For connectivity, it features an HDMI 2.0 port, and a DP 1.4 port, sufficient for uncompressed visuals at FHD@260Hz mode. Moreover, the monitor offers an ergonomic stand, enabling users to adjust the height, swivel, and tilt angles for easier adjustments according to needs.

The Philips Evnia 27M2N5201P will be available at the end of April 2026 at an MSRP of £159.99 or US$215.
