Scorpio Amazing Progress

While the PlayStation 4 new and improved model, aptly called PlayStation 4 Pro, is getting released in just a few more days, Microsoft's Scorpio will only launch sometime next year. Details are still scarce on the new console, but it seems like things have been going rather well.

A few hours ago, Xbox's head Phil Spencer talked about the Scorpio on his Official Twitter profile. While answering a fan's question regarding the console's release date, Spencer stated that he was in a day long review of where the team is on the new console, noting the amazing progress they have done. He didn't say much about a possible release window, but Spencer revealed that they are feeling good about the schedule, so things are definitely proceeding smoothly.

Phil Spencer's optimism regarding the console's scheduled launch seems to go hand in hand with Michael Patcher's opinion. The analyst recently talked about Microsoft having to release the Scorpio earlier than anticipated so to regain market shares that could be lost with the PlayStation 4 Pro release.

A few weeks back, Phil Spencer extensively talked about the Xbox Brand and Project Scorpio, revealing some interesting new details regarding the console's possible price. Microsoft wants players to see the Scorpio "just" as a premium console and nothing beyond that, so the price won't be higher that what has been seen so far. Spencer also hinted that there might be different versions of the Scorpio with different hard drive sizes, just like it is with the recently released Xbox One S.

Microsoft's Scorpio is currently scheduled for a late 2017 release in all regions, with a final release date yet to be confirmed. We will keep you updated on Microsoft's console as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
