It's been 10 years since Persona 5 launched in Japan on PlayStation, and fans of the JRPG series are dying to know what's next for the franchise after Persona 3 Reload. While a new look at Persona 4 Revival could be coming soon, the first alleged look at Persona 6 has unexpectedly arrived today, thanks to a new leak.
Character designs for two characters started making the rounds online, thanks to a known source of accurate ATLUS leaks (Xiaohongshu), showcasing what could be the first blond-haired male protagonist for the series and a female character, whose full Yoko Kusakabe name is found in a file list shared alongside the leaked character designs, suggesting she won't be an alternate protagonist choice. The same file list also revealed the names of other characters, which have been transcribed by ResetERA forums member artsi:
- 主人公 — Protagonist
Yoko Kusakabe
Toma Takimoto
Renji Ogami
Misato Nishihiro
Hana Nakakuni / Chugoku Hana (???)
Nilfa (Mascot)
Shino Senba
Asami Mamiya
Ryushin / Takamichi Shindo (???)
Komari Hoshizaki
While the Persona 6 leaked character designs look legit, the presence of a clearly AI-generated group shot suggests the entire leak could be fake. That doesn't seem to be the case, however. Known SEGA/Atlus leaker lolilailo said on ResetERA that only the group shot is fake, while every other image is real. As such, it definitely seems like we finally got the first look at the future of the series (which could be a semi-open-world future), 9 years after the launch of Persona 5 in the West.
Unfortunately, we have no idea when Persona 6 will finally be revealed. If the aforementioned Persona 4 Revival is closer to release, as a recent Korean rating suggests, it is unlikely SEGA and Atlus will show the game at the upcoming Summer shows. However, if the remake of the fourth entry in the series launches in early 2027, following the same pattern as Persona 3 Reload, we may not be that far away from a full reveal that's been a long time coming.
