Chinese overclocker achieves the highest frequency on the Core i9 14900KF using Liquid Helium cooling on ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard.

Overclocker Wytiwx Achieves a Staggering 9130.33 MHz on All 8 Performance Cores of the Core i9 14900KF

The Raptor Lake Refresh series is still rocking, not just in the gaming/productivity sphere but also when it comes to overclocking. Intel's 14th-gen processors are still one of the most popular CPUs for gaming, but they are also extremely capable of achieving very high clock speeds. Core i9 14900K, 14900KF, and 14900KS SKUs are among the top chips that can reach nearly 9 GHz, and we have a new record that broke the 9.0+GHz frequency world record achieved on a mainstream CPU.

The Chinese overclocker "wytiwx" just broke the world record for achieving the highest CPU frequency. This is overclocker's second attempt, as the first time, he did manage to break Elmor's 9117.75 MHz record by achieving 9121.61 MHz in January this year. Once again, the guy is back with a staggering 9130.33 MHz on all P-cores. Typically, all the best CPU frequency world records are achieved on the high-end Core i9s from the Raptor Lake and Refresh families.

These SKUs also include all their variants, such as K, KF, and S models. Similar to Elmor's setup, wytiwx also used Liquid Helium instead of Liquid Nitrogen, which helped him achieve a higher frequency. As you can see, CPU-Z software shows 9.13 GHz as its core speed, achieved at 1.388V. The results are uploaded on HWBot and have been validated by CPU-Z. The overclocker used the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard for this setup and Corsair Vengeance memory. Wytiwx thanked hardware makers for making this happen in a comment and also shared the pics of the setup.

Crazy again! Thanks Corsair, ROG, Thermal Grizzly, ElmorLabs and my dear teammates MickaShuBL, Crystalright, Markjinli.

As of now, Intel's Raptor Lake/Refresh is still one of the best Intel CPU families for both gaming and productivity. The Core Ultra 200S does achieve superior scores in multi-threaded operations, but sales stats have shown that consumers still prefer Intel's 13th/14th gen CPUs over Arrow Lake chips. A lot of CPUs, particularly in the budget and mid-range segment, have been available for a much lower price than MSRP, and now with Intel Gamer Days, Intel is also offering Battlefield 6 bundled with them.
