One of the most exciting announcements today at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025, other than Samsung's Galaxy S25 series, is the unveiling of One UI 7 based on Android 15 on the flagship phones. This is because it is the latest update by the company and is packed with some key AI-driven features that are meant to become one of the biggest selling points of the S25 lineup. Not only does the interface come with a new design, but it also brings major improvements in the camera experience, with a new zoom control in Pro video mode and smoother transitions. The company has announced the major features and upgrades in the update.
Samsung unveils One UI 7, the latest interface built on Android 15 debuting on the S25 series, and the focus remains on the AI Features
When it comes to the design part, the One UI 7 update brings major enhancements, including a dedicated Lock Screen Now Bar that is positioned at the bottom of the lock screen and offers users the option to customize their experience by being able to manage their activities based on their preferences. The Camera app has a better experience with a more simplified and user-friendly layout, especially when it comes to the Pro mode. The icons and widgets have also been redesigned with a new charging animation, live notifications, and a revamped battery icon.

Android 15 brings enhanced security updates, especially with the Knox Matrix Dashboard platform that is meant to offer unified security across Samsung devices. The introduction of features such as the Theft Detection Lock and Remote Lock helps with more advanced protection and prevention against unauthorized access. The login is kept more secure by introducing Passkey-based logins for Samsung accounts. Users can even disable the 2G series to prevent the devices from falling prey to vulnerabilities and attacks. There is also protection against insecure Wi-Fi networks, as the system would block such connections.
While the design and security upgrades are vital, it is the Galaxy AI features that have left quite the mark as expected, given the enhancements it is meant to offer across various domains. The Now Brief feature is an AI-powered tool that is here to bring users a more personalized experience with the help of daily summaries and even giving suggestions regarding routes or navigation guidelines, setting and reminding health goals, or even when you need to know about weather or news updates, you can make use of the feature. This tool stands out for the ease it will bring its users by doing most of the tasks for them.

The Multimodal Sketch-to-Image feature is a big upgrade for those who tend to use the sketching aid for creative purposes, as it would allow users to create images through sketches, text, or even voice commands. Similarly, advanced editing tools such as Audio Eraser allow users to remove any unwanted sounds or subjects from their content. Users can even transcribe calls with the Call Transcript feature, which would allow for recorded calls to be automatically transcribed if there is a need to go back on the calls, and it also extends support for 20 languages.
With the Browsing Assist tool, users can summarize and even translate online articles, and along with this, they can even have the AI capability to read out articles for them if they do not have the time to even read the summarized version, bringing huge convenience for users. The tool goes one step ahead by offering different language options and users can even choose between different voice styles. With the help of the on-screen tool, you can choose to go back and pause the summary as well.
The Writing Assist Tool is also pretty handy. It can be accessed anywhere, making it easier to write on the go. It comes with advanced formatting that includes Bullet Points and Table Formats so that users can organize their ideas better and benefit from real-time suggestions.
We have been expecting Gemini integrations to make their way to the series, and all the speculations stand true as Samsung has collaborated with Google to bring deeper Gemini integration to the Galaxy S25 series with the purpose of supporting cross-app functionality and making tasks more seamless.
Bixby is here with more contextual awareness, and it would handle on-device tasks such as setting up meetings and having more in-app control. Gemini 2.2. would be handling general queries on the other hand, or dealing with factual information. Overall, Bixby is better equipped to handle multiple tasks. One UI 7 update brings some promising upgrades and could help the S25 series truly stand out with the AI features brought forth.
