Galaxy S26 Ultra benchmarks leak before official announcement

Samsung is reported to equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a larger vapor chamber, which will be necessary to effectively dissipate the heat generated from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The upgraded cooling solution’s prowess is demonstrated in one of the three benchmarks carried out on the flagship prior to Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, where the throttling problem that existed in earlier problems has been somewhat addressed, though this will also depend on the region you reside in.

Despite obtaining better results than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S26 Ultra achieves a slower single-core and multi-core score in Geekbench 6 compared to earlier runs

After learning about Galaxy S26 Ultra’s S Pen’s lack of Bluetooth capabilities, we stumbled upon three benchmarks posted by Sahil Karoul on X, showing how Samsung’s latest and greatest performs in Geekbench 6, AnTuTu, and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. While we have witnessed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s performance on numerous occasions when running AnTuTu and Geekbench 6, thermal throttling persists on Samsung’s flagships due to Qualcomm’s aggressive approach to achieving higher clock speeds.

Fortunately, Sahil Karoul shares that there were no heating problems encountered by the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but he hasn’t shared the ambient temperatures before the tests were conducted, as that makes a world of difference. You can check out the scores below, along with the screenshots. We also noticed that the latest Geekbench 6 scores were slightly lower than what the Galaxy S26 Ultra previously obtained to beat the iPhone 17 Pro Max, so as mentioned above, this difference could either be due to optimization requirements or higher ambient temperatures.

Either way, there are only a couple of days left for Galaxy Unpacked to begin, and we wouldn’t be surprised to witness a flurry of benchmarks carried out on all of Samsung’s flagships, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, so we will provide all the latest updates in the coming days.
