There are currently three flagships occupying the Galaxy S26 series, but Samsung believes there should be one extra device added to the tally, which is why the latest report states that the Galaxy S27 could be a bigger lineup next year. Now, it’s not necessary that increasing the number of models immediately means the series will pick up in shipments, but Samsung apparently wants to bring some Galaxy S26 Ultra technologies to the newest member to build some momentum.

The fourth smartphone is expected to be named Galaxy S27 Pro, and it will share the same Privacy Display technology as the Galaxy S26 Ultra

This move appears to mimic Apple’s strategy of launching four iPhones, but successive reports have mentioned that the Cupertino firm only aims to unveil two high-end iPhone 18 models, followed by the iPhone Fold. According to ETNews, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to be the name of Samsung’s fourth model, but the company has yet to finalize its specifications. Fortunately, it will sport some traits that might not be present in the base Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+, such as the Privacy Display.

Unfortunately, the S Pen will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but since only a small percentage of buyers will actually take advantage of this accessory, Samsung can make better use of the extra space by incorporating a bigger battery, which is an area that the Korean giant has been neglecting. By maintaining this poor approach, Chinese competitors have overtaken the rival in this particular specification.

Even Apple’s eSIM version of the iPhone 17 Pro Max ships with a bigger battery than the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which should give you an idea that Samsung really needs to tighten its belt with the Galaxy S27 Pro. Also, keep in mind that the company’s plans aren’t set in stone, and it could just revert back to its original plan of launching three Galaxy S26 models, meaning that it’s recommended to treat this report with a pinch of salt, and we’ll return with more updates.

Also, in related news, Samsung is expected to increase its adoption of the Exynos 2700 to 50 percent for the new lineup to reduce its chipset expenditure, with the remaining shipping with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
