Octopath Traveler II will be arriving on Xbox Series X|S as well as day-one on Xbox Game Pass later this month, it's been claimed.

This information comes from Spanish leaker eXtas1s, who often writes for outlet Exputer, and was recently spot on with his information about Lords of the Fallen coming to Microsoft's subscription service. Interestingly enough, the leaker was also among the first to claim that Microsoft is planning to make changes to Game Pass tiers due to the Call of Duty franchise. For those in the unknown - Microsoft recently confirmed that the upcoming Black Ops 6 will be coming to Game Pass day-one.

On the Exputer forums, eXtas1s now writes that he has learned that 2023's Octopath Traveler sequel will be coming to Xbox Series this month. "It's going to be a day-one Xbox Game Pass game, along with the franchise's first game (Octopath Traveler), which could also be added to the subscription service as well", the leaker added.

During Tokyo Game Show 2023, it was confirmed that Octopath Traveler II would be launching on Xbox Series X|S in early 2024. We've included the game's Xbox announcement trailer below:

Released in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5/4, and Nintendo Switch, offers charming characters alongside beautiful visuals, and an interesting story. Here's what we wrote about the sequel in our launch review last year:

Octopath Traveler II plays it safe when it comes to its core gameplay, offering a handful of small positive tweaks that don’t entirely make up for returning problems like clumsy party management and battles that take too long to wrap up. Thankfully, the game also takes a big, confident step forward in terms of writing, offering a cast of well-wrought, interesting characters, and a vividly-detailed world you won’t soon forget. Octopath Traveler II may have the same old engine under the hood, but the road trip it takes you on is well worth experiencing.
