NVIDIA fans might have to wait for several weeks or even months before they can secure the RTX 5090 & 5080 GPUs if they want to purchase them from Overclockers UK.

Pre-orders for NVIDIA RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Ceased: RTX 5090 to Get Back in Stock in 3–16 Weeks While RTX 5080 Will Come Sooner in About 2–6 Weeks

The NVIDIA RTX 50 series launch was a mess and a 'paper launch' indeed. Some stores didn't get their hands on even a single RTX 5090 GPU, let alone hundreds, and even those that managed to sell the RTX 5090 had only a couple in their inventory. All the RTX 5090 GPUs were sold out in minutes after the embargo was lifted and the RTX 5080 saw the same fate despite being somewhat better in availability (even after offering a poor generational uplift).

If you are waiting to buy either of these cards, then you probably have to wait for long enough. As per Overclockers UK, they reported that apart from the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 being sold out, the pre-orders for both have ceased. This means, right now, you can't even pre-order these GPUs even if you are willing to wait for weeks, at least on their website. So, when are these coming back?

Overclockers UK says that the RTX 5090 can take somewhere between 3 and 16 weeks and the RTX 5080 can take 2–6 weeks to come back to their inventory. If the RTX 5090 takes a maximum of 16 weeks, this means you are going to get the GPU somewhat before the first half of 2025, i.e., May. At that point, both the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 would have already hit the market. The RTX 5070 Ti is launching on 20th February while the 5070 will be coming in March.

RTX 50 Series Stock Update 31/01/2025 Stock Update RTX 5090 sold out and pre-orders ceased RTX 5080 sold out and pre-orders ceased Due to incredibly high demand and limited stock, all 50 Series cards sold shortly after launch with some pre-orders taken in restricted quantities. Stock ETAs are as follows:-

  • RTX 5090 ETA: 3-16 Weeks
  • RTX 5080 ETA: 2-6 Weeks

However, the RTX 5080 might come back within a month from now. We saw it had a much better availability in stores around the world, but it wasn't nearly enough for everyone to get their hands on it. The GPU is fairly inferior in generational uplifts compared to the RTX 5090, but due to retaining the same price as the RTX 4080, Super had people coming in swarms to buy it.

People were camping and in some cases, retailers were distributing lottery tickets to get a chance to spend thousands of dollars to get either of these GPUs. At the moment, some of the ordered RTX 50 GPUs may get stuck in the pre-order queue if you have bought them from Overclockers UK and didn't receive the confirmation mail.

This is why the retailer is no longer taking pre-orders at the moment. We don't know how many days or weeks the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will take to get back into the inventory of other retailers all around the world, but they aren't coming very soon.
