Despite having launched a few months ago, the RTX 50 series hasn't impacted the Steam Hardware survey stats much, but at least it's now visible.
GeForce RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 are the Most Used RTX 50 Series GPUs as per April's Steam Hardware Survey
NVIDIA's RTX 50 series made its debut in early January but appeared on the shelves at the end of the month. Due to poor availability and insanely high prices, the GPUs couldn't find their way to a lot of systems, but fast-forwarding a bit, we finally see the RTX 50 series being more common than before. It will still take some time to compete with older-gen GPUs in terms of share, but unlike the RX 9000 series GPUs, a few of its SKUs have appeared on the latest list.
As of now, the GeForce RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 have appeared in the April survey. The RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 both have an equal share of 0.38% each, and the RTX 5070 Ti is a bit behind with a 0.28% share. The RTX 5080 appeared on Steam Stats in March before the 70-class cards. This was due to being launched sooner than the 5070 Ti and 5070, and increased by +0.18% in April.

The RTX 5090 remains totally absent from the Steam Hardware Survey, but that doesn't mean there aren't users who are running the flagship Blackwell card. The Steam Hardware Survey only shows user-registered data and will miss anything that hasn't been registered. So, it might not be very accurate, but it still somewhat shows the overall picture of the most popular components and operating systems.
The surprising part is that no RX 9000 series GPU was seen in the latest chart. This is despite the RX 9070 series being fairly available. This could be due to various reasons, but we expect the GPU to appear in a month or so. Currently, only the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are the only two RDNA 4 GPUs that made it to the shelves, and the RX 9060 XT is expected to hit the shelves later this month at Computex, aiming to compete with NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti.
Now, as far as the most popular GPUs go, the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU has taken the lead with 4.99% total GPU share, leaving behind both the RTX 3060 and the desktop RTX 4060 variant by achieving a solid 0.51% increase this month. The next top 20 most popular discrete GPUs appear to be all from NVIDIA, and the most popular AMD GPU in the list is the RX 6600 with just a 0.93% share.
