There won’t be an Xbox Gamescom 2018 press conference, Microsoft has confirmed.

The news was announced through a new post on the official Xbox Wire in which Microsoft detailed its plans for this year’s Gamescom event.

Although there won’t be a media briefing this year, Microsoft will be present at the event with a special episode of Inside Xbox which will be broadcasted on Tuesday, August 21, at 4:30 p.m. CEST (7:30 a.m. PDT).

In addition, the Xbox FanFest is returning to Gamescom this year. “Xbox FanFest will return to gamescom once again this year, this year on the Rhein River!”, the blog post reads. “FanFest will happen for one incredible night on Thursday, August 23.  More information on tickets and all the special activities happening on this day will be revealed very soon.”

Like previous years, Microsoft will be present with its Xbox booth at which players will be able to try out the upcoming Forza Horizon 4, State of Decay 2’s upcoming Daybreak Pack, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

This won’t be the first time that Microsoft isn’t organizing a press conference at Gamescom – back in 2016 the company also ditched its media briefing.
