No God of War Season Pass, Game Director Confirms; Chimes in on Upcoming Release Date

There won’t be a PlayStation 4 God of War Season Pass, game director and writer, Cory Barlog, has confirmed.

Barlog took to Twitter to answer some questions from fans recently. “No season pass”, the game director clearly replied when asked. Barlog also replied to some story-related questions and revealed that he had just completed his second play-through. “As for the story questions - you will have to wait and play the game to see how it all shakes out.  I just finished another play-through last night around midnight and it was still awesome! I'm totally biased, though.”

The cheerful God of War writer also commented on questions regarding the upcoming announcement of the game’s release date. “No, sorry”, he replied when asked whether he could just reveal the date. “With all the awesome games set to come out in 2018, I think it will be safe to tell your boss you will need to take the year off 🙂  I know I will be taking a ton of time to sleep and play games when I finish God of War!”

“Not today, sorry”, he told another fan. “But I promise I will say a release date at some point.”

God of War was officially announced by Sony at E3 2016 after Barlog confirmed that a new game in the series was being developed back in 2014. The game will be more narrative-focused, and the combat system has been totally revamped.

The game is slated for a release on PlayStation 4 later this year.
