The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller may feature a significant upgrade over the original controller, some recent findings suggest.
As discovered by Famiiboards member LiC, a new FCC filing designated BEE-008, which almost assuredly refers to the Pro Controller due to the inclusion of both Bluetooth and NFC and the letter E in the serial number, which lines up with the designations used for the original Switch Pro Controller, confirms that the controller will have a headphone jack. Not only is this a great upgrade over the original controller that is sure to make some players' lives easier, but it also suggests how the Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed support voice chat natively and not in the same needlessly convoluted way the original system does.
On a related note, we have heard plenty about the Nintendo Switch 2 dev kit in the past few days, including the fact that plenty of third-party developers will only receive one later this year. Among these developers are likely the Embracer Group development studios, as they reportedly did not have them eight months ago since Nintendo deemed them too chaotic. As such, it definitely seems like the rumored three-phase launch, which will only see mostly first-party titles at launch, will indeed be real.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally getting fully unveiled tomorrow during a Nintendo Direct announced earlier this year. A release date should also be revealed during tomorrow's event.
