Highly Likely
Now that the PlayStation State of Play and Xbox Games Showcase have aired, Nintendo is the last major manufacturer left to host a traditional Summer presentation to reveal what is launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future. According to reliable insider Nate the Hate, a Nintendo Direct that is likely to reveal the Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake rebuilt from scratch will be hosted this week, and some recent happenings heavily suggest this will indeed be the case.
As spotted on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, Nintendo delayed a scheduled Nintendo Store maintenance from June 9 to June 11. Traditionally, these maintenance periods align almost perfectly with Nintendo Direct presentations, so the schedule strongly suggests the Direct will air on June 11 and not on June 9 as was rumored.
The Nintendo Store maintenance isn't the only indication that a Nintendo Direct, and thus the announcement of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake, is right around the corner. As spotted by Bluesky user Yakumono, Nintendo updated the NES, SNES, and GB Nintendo Classics to implement challenges. These challenges, however, have not yet gone live. The timing of this update suggests they will after the Nintendo Direct, providing another strong indication that the rumored presentation will air in a few days.
While the rumored Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake announcement is sure to steal the show, Nintendo is likely to show plenty of other games while confirming the release dates of other projects, such as Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. However, there could be some other surprises waiting in the wings, such as a new entry in the Wario Land series. Revealed by X user noarmsandnolegs, who revealed Spyro: A Realm Beyond before its official announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase, this game reportedly started production a few months back, so it may be too early for an announcement, but still, it's clear how Nintendo is in full swing to continue delivering excellent titles for the Nintendo Switch 2.
