Unlike the last few Windows 10 updates where Microsoft had announced their names months before their release, Microsoft is keeping quiet on the upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 4 release. We still have no idea what it will be called when it’s released in Spring. Or, do we…

Following the release of Windows 10 Creators Update and then Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, it looks like the Redmond software giant is going to keep using Creators for its Windows 10 releases. After Creators and Fall Creators Update, now is the turn of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update. However, this isn’t some speculation based on the names of the last two updates as the name “Spring Creators Update” has actually been used by the company itself.

Having kicked off its February Bug Bash, Microsoft offered a number of Quests to Insiders to find bugs. One of these Quests made reference to the Spring Creators Update (spotted by @WinObs).

Microsoft continues to focus on features designed for creators and while many had believed the last two updates were enough, it appears the company will continue to keep creators front and center. It also makes it somewhat easier to remember the names. But considering the original Creators Update was the actual Spring update, it might just be more straightforward to use the version numbers instead of multiple Creators Updates and the seasons they were released in.

Microsoft later removed the reference to “Spring Creators Update” from the Feedback Hub Quest replacing it with “R4 update,” however, it was enough for Twitter to make fun of this naming scheme.

Windows 10 Spring Creators Update will be the third Creators Update. The first version of Windows 10 in 2018, the Redstone 4 aka Windows 10 Spring Creators Update aka Version 1803 will bring the Insider-favorite Timeline, Fonts in Settings, and more Fluent Design features and improvements.
