ASRock's Intel Arc B580 GPUs will be available for retail on 13th December, but pre-orders have already started on Newegg. More GPUs from more vendors are expected to be released around the same time by Newegg and different retailers.

ASRock Steel Legend Intel Arc B580 is listed for $269 and Challenger Arc B580 is listed for $259 On Newegg for pre-orders

Intel yesterday revealed its Battlemage discrete GPU series, revealing the Intel Arc B580 as the first GPU in the lineup. The new card is based on the Xe2 architecture and succeeds the Arc A580 GPU. The official retail launch will start on 12th December worldwide, followed by the AIB editions launch a day later.

ASRock, being one of the major board partners of Intel, has already unveiled its custom designs for the Arc B580. If you have been following us, you must already be aware that ASRock has the Steel Legend Arc B580 and the Challenger Arc B580 editions for gamers. Both these editions can now be found on Newegg, which is one of the biggest PC hardware online retailers in North America.

Newegg has announced that the GPUs can be booked with pre-orders on the site, while the shipping will start on 13th December. The ASRock Steel Legend Arc B580 is priced at $269.99 and the Challenger Arc B580 at $259.99. Even though the core specifications are identical in the different editions, there is a difference in the core clocks. The Steel Legend brings a higher 2800 MHz boost clock while the Challenger can go up to 2740 MHz. Of course, they can be overclocked higher with manual overclocking as well.

However, the Steel Legend is made for superior overclocking performance as it is accommodated with a triple fan cooling solution and dual 8-pin PCI-E connectors. The Challenger card, on the other hand, brings a dual fan design and a single 8-pin connector to suffice for its power requirements. The reference card is officially rated at 190W of TDP and these custom editions can reach 200W+ with manual overclocking.

Hence, the official MSRP for these GPUs is $10-$20 higher than the reference Intel Arc B580 edition. The Arc B580 is aimed at budget PC builds but comes with higher VRAM compared to the current-gen AMD and NVIDIA GPUs in this price range. While NVIDIA and AMD both have 8 GB cards in the $250-$300 price range(RTX 4060 and RX 7600), Intel's attractive 12 GB Arc B580 edition makes the card more appealing.
