Developer and publisher Shiro Games has revealed two new titles at today's Triple-I Showcase, one of which is set to arrive next month, and another that will have a playtest as early as next week. This is the latter, Frostrail. An upcoming co-op first-person shooter survival game published by Shiro Games and developed by FakeFish, and it was just shown off with a new action-packed trailer.

If Shiro Games rings a bell, that's because they are also the team behind games like Wartales, Dune: Spice Wars, and Spacecraft, which was the studio's other major announcement at today's Triple-I Showcase that you can learn more about here.

Frostrail puts players into a frozen world where survival means being in constant motion with the steam-engine trains that act as humanity's last lifeline among the frozen horrors of constant blizzards in what is otherwise a frozen wasteland.

You'll explore abandoned settlements, shelters, and underground ruins to find whatever supplies you can to scavenge your way to survival while fighting off enemies called Revenants, corrupted remains of the dead that haunt the world.

You can sign up for Frostrail's playtest on its Steam page, which will kick off next week on April 16, 2026. It is currently set to arrive on PC in early access later in 2026.

"Frostrail pushes both solo players and co-op teams to their limits with a tense and unforgiving survival loop," said lead designer at FakeFish Ez Jämsen, in a press release. "We've worked hard to craft a world that feels both hostile and alive, and we can't wait to see players carve their own path through the frost when the playtest begins."
