Apple is not yet finished unveiling the rest of its Mac hardware, but it looks like, after the M4 iMac announcement, the redesigned Mac mini is going to be next. The technology giant has been having a hard time controlling leaks because the latest one comes thanks to an Amazon listing. It reveals that the compact computer will not only sport a smaller footprint than the previous-generation models but also be available in the M4 and M4 Pro options. Users will apparently have the option to configure the machine with up to a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU.

Additional specifications reveal that customers can configure the new Mac mini with up to 64GB of unified RAM

The listing has been removed from Amazon, but not before MacRumors spotted some intricate details belonging to the Mac mini, which have been mentioned in the comparison chart below. Firstly, the size of the machine appears to be much smaller than its predecessors, which is something that a previous report pointed out, stating that the Mac mini could be as small as an Apple TV. While it should be easier to carry around, it will also pack quite the punch as buyers can opt for the M4 or M4 Pro configurations.

As most of you know, Apple’s M4 was first introduced in the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models, with either the 9-core or 10-core CPU variants being a part of the internals. However, the company unveiled a third version that is found in the base iMac, and it will be considerably slower because of its 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. With the Mac mini, we expect to witness the exact opposite scenario because it can be configured with up to a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU, along with 64GB of unified RAM and an 8TB SSD.

The number of performance and efficiency cores were not mentioned in the comparison, but thanks to the leaked listing, we now know that the official press release could be just around the corner. The chart does not specify the I/O, but the front side shows two USB-C ports, which could support the Thunderbolt standard. Sadly, the image is too blurry to make out the difference, so we will wait for the official announcement to come through before proceeding further, so stay tuned.
