The memory overclocking war between enthusiasts continues. Bl4ckdot is now the leading overclocker for the highest DDR5 speed on the Z890 platform.
Bl4ckdot Achieves a Staggering 12,872 MT/s With G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 Memroy on ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Apex
DDR5 memory overclocking world record typically don't last for even a month but this might be one of the rare instances when the previous world record of 12,843 remained at the top for over a month. The overclocker, "saltycroissant," previously achieved 12,832 MT/s, which he broke a few days later in May. The score stayed at the top for the whole month of June, but now a new champion has climbed the ladder to the top, dethroning saltycroissant convincingly.

The enthusiast, "bl4ckdot", is now the world record holder for the highest DDR5 memory speed by achieving an incredible 6431.1 MHz or 12,872 MT/s of memory speed using the G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memory. The overclocker used the Intel Z890 platform and his setup consisted of Intel Core Ultra 9 285K installed on the ROG Maximus Z890 Apex, which has been used several times for making such records.

Through liquid nitrogen cooling on the memory, the overclocker achieved the 12872 MT/s speed, which can be seen on the HWBOT website. The score has been validated on the CPU-Z validator, where one can see all the details such as system configuration and the cache latency, which in this case was CL68-127-127-127-2.

The current Memory Frequency Hall of Fame shows bl4ckdot at the top, followed by saltycroisssant and Seby at the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. Currently, bl4ckdot and saltycroissant are the only two overclockers to break the 6,400 MHz frequency mark with DDR5 memory but Seby and Hicookie are also close enough. G.Skill proudly shared the results on its social media page, boasting about its Trident Z5 DDR5 memory, which uses the SK Hynix DDR5 ICs.
