MSI introduced its flagship MAG 272URX QD-OLED gaming monitor at the beginning of this year and just came up with its closest variant for the Chinese market. The new monitor model is MAG 272UP X24 QD-OLED, which is technically identical to the 272URX in most respects, but there are some small differences.

As per the report, the MAG 272UP X24 features a QD-OLED panel from Samsung, which is the most popular QD-OLED panel manufacturer. Samsung has been aggressive in making QD-OLED panels for a few years and is about to ramp up production significantly this year. MSI, ASUS, and other popular monitor makers have already started adopting the latest QD-OLED panels in their latest models and the MAG 272UP X24 is one of those.

The MAG 272UP X24 features a 26.5" screen size with a resolution of 3840x2160p that can run at up to 240Hz refresh rate. The monitor offers an impressive contrast of 1.5M:1 and a true 10-bit color depth to offer over one billion colors. The display can deliver a typical 250 nits of brightness in SDR mode and up to 450 nits in HDR mode, making the monitor bright enough for well-lit rooms.

From display features to dimensions and ergonomics, there are no differences between the MAG 272UP X24 and MAG 272URX except for a few in the connectivity area. The latter is the first one from MSI to feature the DP 2.1a UBHR20 port that can deliver up to 80 Gbps of bandwidth. On the other hand, the MAG 272UP X24 brings a more standard DP 1.4 port with up to 48 Gbps of bandwidth.

The next difference is the power delivery capability of the USB-C port at the I/O interface. The flagship MAG 272URX brings a 98W Type-C port but the MAG 272UP X24 brings only a 15W PD Type-C port. Apart from these, they are both the same display and cater to the demands of enthusiast gamers who want the best visuals while staying competitive.

MSI is going to launch the MAG 272UP X24 next week for pre-orders for 5,499 Yuan, which roughly translates to US$752.
