MSI reveals GTX480 Lightning Edition

MSI has revealed a new custom designed GTX480 aimed at serious overclockers, the N480GTX Lightning Edition.

The card has 480Cuda cores, 1.5GB of GDDR5 memory with a 384bit interface and factory OCed at 750/1500/1000(4000) MHz.

To make the Lightning Edition very overclock friendly, MSI has done some radical changes, the card has a custom designed dual slot cooler with dual fans with dense aluminium fin arrays, there are many other changes like a 17 phase VRM, voltage measurement points and dual Bios. As a result the card should be a good overclocker  with some serious voltage tweaking potential which should improve performance quite alot although we can't say anything until the card is reviewed.

The card is powered by two 8 pin and one 6 pin connector,  has dual DVI, Display port, HDMI outputs and is priced at $550 although release date is unknown.
