The 16-year-old Cyclone series is back with the release of the RTX 5060 8G Cyclone, but the INSPIRE ITX is even smaller.
MSI Releases RTX 5060 8G INSPIRE ITX, Which Measures Just 145mm in Length; Meanwhile, CYCLONE Edition Also Makes a Surprising Entry
It's rare to see single-fan budget and mid-range GPUs these days due to the high thermal performance requirements. It seems that MSI looks interested in making single-fan GPUs, and even though it's no surprise to see a single-fan cooling solution on a 60-class card like the GeForce RTX 5060, MSI went one step further in ensuring the smallest possible size, at least as of now.
The company released the GeForce RTX 5060 8G INSPIRE ITX card, offering a single-fan cooling solution with INSPIRE's iconic minimalistic shroud. The INSPIRE series is fairly new but is now one of the first to deliver an ultra-compact GPU, which measures just 145mm in length and 120mm in height. On the other hand, MSI also made sure to bring the CYCLONE design once again to the mainstream market.
The CYCLONE series was originally released in 2009, and even though it was missing for quite some time, it made one of its first appearances once again with the GeForce RTX 4060 CYCLONE card. MSI looks interested in continuing the CYCLONE design with the 60-class cards by releasing the RTX 5060 8G CYCLONE OC. The design looks quite different from other MSI editions, offering an exposed heatsink with a single fan installed in the middle and two copper heat pipes on the sides.
It, too, is quite compact, measuring just 161mm in length and 125mm in height. Even though the INSPIRE ITX is specially made for ITX cases, the CYCLONE edition can fit pretty well into ITX cases as well. The RTX 5060 8G CYCLONE OC edition offers up to 2527 MHz in boost and up to 2535 MHz in Extreme Performance mode through the MSI Center app. The RTX 5060 8G INSPIRE ITX offers up to 2497 MHz and 2512 MHz in Boost and Extreme Performance modes, respectively.
