The MPG 242R X60N from MSI boasts a Rapid TN panel and can achieve 600Hz refresh rate for extremely smooth visuals.
After ASUS and Acer, MSI Introduces its 600Hz Offering, the MPG 242R X60N, That Boasts Full HD Resolution
We covered MSI's latest monitors at Computex and were glad to report about the company's fastest gaming monitor yet. MSI has officially introduced the MPG 242R X60N today, providing full specifications of the monitor and has prepared a dedicated page on the website.
The MPG 242R X60N is MSI's first 600Hz gaming monitor and offers extremely smooth gameplay for enthusiasts. It's surely not easy to reach 600 FPS, but if you have that enthusiast-grade rig that can achieve 600+ FPS in eSports titles, then this might be for you. The MPG 242R X60N uses a Rapid TN panel, which is much faster than the Rapid IPS we have on various budget segments high refresh rate monitors.

Not only does this help the monitor reach incredibly higher refresh rates than IPS panels, but it also offers higher responsiveness. The MPG 242R X60N delivers just 0.1ms GtG response time, which is almost 10 times faster than you can have on an IPS panel. The MPG 242R X60N is a 24.1-inch monitor with a 1080p resolution that targets professional eSports players who want to stay ahead of their enemies at all times. It's certainly not for the immersive experience if that's what you are looking for, but it is far better than what you could have on a TN panel a few years ago.
This includes better image quality and connetivity. The MPG 242R X60N offers a wide color gamut with 93% DCI-P3 and 119% sRGB color spaces and also supports VESA DisplayHDR 400 for vivid image quality. For connectivity, there are HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4a ports and a Type C port with 98W power delivery for convenient device charging. Of course, the monitor is fully ergonomic as well, allowing various adjustments like height, swivel, tilt, and pivot.
Pricing hasn't been revealed yet, but it likely won't be cheap. Acer's 600Hz XV240 F6 is MSI's MPG 242R X60N direct competitor and was launched at $599 and hence, the price tag will be quite a premium for the MSI monitor as well. Currently, the only monitor that surpasses both of these is ASUS's ROG Strix ACE XG248Q5G, which runs at up to 610Hz refresh rate.
