We know that Lords of the Fallen 2, the third Lords of the Fallen game from CI Games, which is a sequel to the 2023 reboot (which is said to be part of the next batch of PS Plus Essential games), is on its way. It's had a 2026 release window for a while now, and we've recently seen more gameplay deep-dives and PC specs, indicating we're nearing launch. Well, now we know just how near, thanks to a slip-up from a game designer at CI Games.

Spotted on Reddit, game designer Dan Regan accidentally revealed that a more specific release window for Lords of the Fallen 2 is August 2026. As part of Regan's portfolio, when describing the work they did on the coming Soulslike, Regan wrote, "I look forward to discussing it more here once the game has release; Lords of the Fallen 2 is expected to release in August 2026."

It was quickly changed to just "I look forward to discussing it more here once the game has released," once the post started to gain some traction, but of course, the damage was already done. Now, since CI Games hasn't publicly stated a release date beyond the aforementioned 2026 release window, this doesn't mean it'll definitely be coming in August.

But it does mean that, at least internally, the team is working with the idea of an August 2026 release date, and if that hasn't changed, we can expect to jump into Lords of the Fallen 2 this summer, potentially even getting a release date reveal at the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2026 event.
