100%
Highly Likely
As we near the end of a month and the beginning of another, we also get closer to the time when PlayStation will reveal the next batch of PS Plus Essential games to kick off a new month. And, as we've come to expect, reliable leaker Billbil-kun at Dealabs already knows which title is headlining that new batch of games.
We've noted this previously, but it's worth repeating that you should always take unconfirmed rumors, no matter their source, with a grain of salt. Even leakers and insiders who have strong reputations can make mistakes, so you should never see something as 100% true until it's been made official. That said, those strong reputations are what make certain leakers worth listening to, and Billbil-kun is among that class of insiders.
They are consistent in accurately reporting the monthly PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium titles, ahead of their reveal, so it's highly likely that today's report is just the same as the last one (which was just weeks ago, where Billbil-kun accurately reported several games coming to PS Plus Extra).
According to the report, the big headlining game for April 2026's batch of PS Plus Essential games will be Lords of the Fallen (2023), the reboot to the series from developer CI Games after the initial Lords of the Fallen release back in 2014.
It's arguably a perfect time for the reboot of Lords of the Fallen to be more readily available to players who have yet to try the game out. Firstly, the version PS Plus subscribers will get to play is yards better than what CI Games launched with, following a massive 2.0 update that overhauled a lot of the game's original problems.
Secondly, we're also nearing the launch of Lords of the Fallen 2, though no official release date has been set. CI Games has confirmed that it'll be out sometime in 2026, and just last month the company revealed the game's PC specs. We've also been seeing plenty of gameplay deep-dives, all of which suggests that we're at least closing in on a release date reveal.
So it makes sense that CI Games would look to get Lords of the Fallen on another subscription service to put it back in players' minds ahead of the sequel's release date reveal, since it was previously available on Xbox Game Pass, though it was removed in November 2025.
