Apple’s supplier Foxconn is expected to start a trial production run of the company’s iPhone 15 series in the first quarter of this year. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra are expected to use more advanced hardware, which was not a surprise, and according to a new rumor, both of these models might take advantage of Samsung’s new M13 panel.

Samsung’s M13 panel is two generations newer than the display used on the Galaxy S23 series

Slowly, we continue to come across tidbits surrounding the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra. Previously, we learned that both flagships would be treated to changes such as increased RAM, a titanium chassis, USB-C with Thunderbolt support, and more. Now, thanks to @chunvn8888, we know that Apple may employ Samsung’s M13 panel for its top-tier flagships of 2023.

While we have not learned the specifics of this M13 panel, it is likely that it will boast characteristics that make it superior to the display used on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Earlier, DisplayMate gave this panel a total of 15 awards and said that the iPhone 14 Pro Max features the best display on a smartphone. Given Apple’s habit of only selecting the best components for its offerings, we believe Samsung’s M13 will be something extraordinary.

On Twitter, the tipster mentions that the M13 is two generations newer than the M11 used on the Galaxy S23 series. M11 was also used on the Galaxy S22 lineup, so Samsung’s cost-cutting efforts are evident here. However, this rumor can mean that Apple will pay Samsung more to acquire these M13 panels, which may suggest that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra could be priced higher when they launch later this year.

The tipster has not mentioned which panels the less expensive iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature, but we will keep you in the loop, like always. For now, remember that we should hear more news about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra offering more upgrades compared to the remaining two versions.
