Today, Apple has displayed the enhancements coming with the iPadOS 18 release, which will make the end experience more adaptable and intelligent. The software update will include many AI-infused features, and a new built-in calculator will also be available. This feature will roll out in the fall, with the public beta being released next month.

iPadOS 18 features a built-in calculator with complex math integrations to solve problems in real-time

Apple introduced a new Math Notes calculator that can work with Apple Pencil and help solve math issues in real-time. Furthermore, the company will also bring Smart Script, a notes app feature powered by machine learning that can convert text according to your style and even create a handwriting version of this capability.

With the upgraded iPadOS 18, Apple is also bringing in more customization options for your iPad. The home screen and app icons can be changed to another color, with the option to choose light, dark, or even a tint color. The widgets below can be removed to give a neater look. With the help of the new Controls API, the home screen and the control center will have more redesign options, making customization enhancements not just limited to iOS 18.

Additionally, a new Tab bar can be found above the app display and on the sidebar to help users access their favorite tabs more easily. Users can now customize the in-app experience by reordering the tabs according to their own requirements.

Alongside the new tab customization feature, Apple will introduce a new password app for greater privacy. This privacy enhancement feature will hide apps with sensitive information so no one using your phone can access it without biometric verification.

There are also various major upgrades to the Messages app, including the ability to schedule text messages for later, tapback emojis, and even formatting the text, such as turning it into italics or bold, etc.

Moving further, Safari has been revamped with the Highlights option to summarize a web page to save users time and provide more convenience. Many other salient changes include a redesigned photos app that automatically sorts out your photo library to better display your videos and pictures on the iPad and the Clean up tool that can be used to remove any unwanted objects from a picture's background.

The most awaited aspect of the event, Apple Intelligence, will be well integrated with iPadOS as well. The AI enhancement will give Siri a more natural tone and ability to respond to varied contexts. The voice assistant will additionally be able to handle more complex tasks and be extended across apps.

Last but not least, iPadOS 18 will have a new accessibility feature, allowing people with disabilities to use their eyes to control devices. This highlights Apple's focus on giving more control to users this year.
