Apple’s manufacturing partners have started shipping the new iPad Air 6 to the U.S., according to a tipster, who claims that the first batch is originating from China. Only yesterday, we reported that the California-based giant would introduce its new tablet in just a single size. Now, we have stumbled across updated information stating that the new iPad Air will arrive in two display sizes measuring 10.9 inches and 12.9 inches.

A tipster from Weibo says that ‘Everything is ready,’ referring to the iPad Air 6 launch

Going by the handle ‘Instant Digital,’ MacRumors spotted the rumor claiming that the new slate is arriving in the U.S. market. The majority of Apple’s supply chain is still stationed in China, so it is unsurprising to learn that shipments are moving out of the region. Regardless, a critical change between the iPad Air 5 and iPad Air 6 was that Apple was reportedly said to launch a larger version sporting a 12.9-inch display. The only other tablet sold by the company that sports such a display is the iPad Pro, and unfortunately, it cannot be purchased by everyone thanks to its premium pricing.

The iPad Air 6, with its supersized panel, should attract more customers since it will offer more real estate, with its larger footprint potentially housing a beefier battery, which will result in increased runtime. Additionally, the 12.9-inch model is around the same size as portable notebooks, but with the iPad Air 6 being much thinner, it will be easier to carry out, making its portability factor a major selling point. The tipster has not pointed out the specifications of the new tablet, but past reports state that the internals will include Apple’s M2, with the M3 reserved for the new iPad Pro family that is rumored to launch on March 26.

Additionally, we should expect the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E but no ProMotion support. We also do not believe that the two iPad Air 6 models will tout any radical design changes since Apple has continued to dominate this segment for several years. Hopefully, we will see a similar price range to what the company adopted for the iPad Air 5, allowing it to capture a specific consumer base that cannot upgrade to the more expensive iPad Pro range.
