At its WWDC 2024 event, Apple finally unveiled its AI features, which the company has worked on for quite a while. Apple's implementation of AI utilities is quite different from the competition and almost seems unreal, which is why it will arrive later than expected. Siri received its fair share of improvements as well, and it seems that Apple will roll out the new experience in the first quarter of next year with an iOS 18 update.
Apple to release the full Siri experience with Apple Intelligence next year in Spring
Mark Gurman states in the latest Power On newsletter that Apple will release the new Siri experience early next year as part of an iOS 18 update. The late rollout of the feature is a sign that the company is still integrating AI technology into its platforms, which will require more time than originally expected. Take note that Siri will come with some new features, but the full-fledged version with all the new bells and whistles, will be available in the iOS 18.4 update next year.
As for the time frame, Apple will possibly release iOS 18.4 next year, but the exact release date is not known at this point. However, we will know more on the matter early next year as the new Siri experience will undergo beta testing with developers. The beta testing period will begin in January, and the final release will be scheduled for sometime in the Spring.
Take note that Apple Intelligence and the new Siri updates are different features, and the company will potentially release them later this year, possibly alongside the release of the iPhone 16 lineup. Apple Intelligence will include a handful of utilities the company announced on stage last month, and these features will be delivered at their due time in the coming months.
If you are not familiar with it, Siri will include some major additions when the company releases iOS 18 to the general public, which include ChatGPT integration and the new design. The ratio of features that Apple will release this year and the next year is unknown, but there is a slight possibility that all features will be released together. This is because these are mere speculations at this stage, and the final word rests with Apple. The tech giant has already started working on iOS 19 and the Apple Intelligence enhancements, which will be available to users next year.
The company will potentially release new betas of iOS 18 and additional builds later today, and we will be covering the release in extensive detail. Do you think Apple will release AI features with the upcoming beta builds? Let us know in the comments.
