iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2

Those enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program will be pleased to learn that they can now download iOS 11 Public Beta 2 right away.

iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2 is Now Available for Testers. Features Same Changes as its Developer Counterpart.

Apple tests out its software extensively before pushing it out to everyone, that's why it has an initiative called the 'Beta Software Program.' This means that you do not have to spend $99 on an annual basis just to try out beta software from the Cupertino company. Signing up is as easy as heading over to beta.apple.com, logging in with your Apple ID and enrolling your device on which you wish to download the public beta software.

Today, those enrolled in that program will be happy to learn that they can download iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2 absolutely free. This also means that Public Beta 1 users can go ahead and update to the latest build by going to Settings > General > Software Update on their iPhone or iPad. Just make sure you are connected to a WiFi network in order to download the update while maintaining a power level of more than 50% on your device.

The new update of iOS 11.1 features hundreds of new emoji characters which I'm sure will go down well with those who make use of them a lot. Apart from that, iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2 marks the return of the 3D Touch app switcher gesture as well. This gesture allows you to jump straight into the multitasking view, or switch apps, by deep pressing on the side of the display. But of course, this feature is exclusive to the iPhone, that too on models that feature a 3D Touch display.

Other than the above mentioned changes, you shouldn't see nothing more than performance related refinements or bug fixes. Therefore launch the Settings app right now and begin downloading without hesitating.
