Intel has one more CPU to offer in the Arrow Lake HX family, but the core configuration is unknown.
Lenovo and MSI Prepare Gaming Laptops With Core Ultra 7 251HX Rated at 55W; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB @115W Also Mentioned
Even though Intel has moved to the newer CPU series called Core Ultra Series 3, aka Panther Lake, the company is reportedly preparing more SKUs in the previous lineup. The Arrow Lake series is reportedly getting another SKU in the HX family, meant for high-performance devices. As spotted by @94G8LA, it's the Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX, that was spotted in some laptop listings.
One listing appears to be from Amazon and reveals that Lenovo's upcoming Legion 5i 2026 gaming laptop will feature the newer chip. Unfortunately, we don't have the information on its specifications, but it's rated at 55W, which puts it closer to the Ultra 7 255HX. The Core Ultra 7 255HX brings a 20-core configuration using 8 P-Cores and 12 E-Cores combo, and the new chip could bring the same configuration or even fewer Efficient cores.
One can expect a 16-core configuration with 8 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, or the same 20-core config, but that remains just a speculation. Similarly, MSI is also preparing a new MSI Raider edition called Raider 16 HX (B2WH-019FR) with the same Ultra 7 251HX CPU, which shows a 2.9 GHz base clock. For comparison, the Ultra 7 255HX boasts a 2.4 GHz P-Core base clock and up to 5.2 GHz boost. Therefore, the Ultra 7 251HX is expected to bring a lower boost clock out of the box.
That said, we are also witnessing the appearance of GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 12 GB VRAM once again. In one of our recent posts, we reported that Lenovo is preparing new laptops with RTX 5070 12 GB GPU, but we aren't sure if this is once again a typo in the listing. Looks like the reports of higher VRAM RTX 5070 laptop GPU might be true after all. In the Lenovo Legion 5i 2026 listing, the specs reveal that the laptop uses the GeForce RTX 5070 12G GPU, which will offer 4 GB more VRAM than the existing RTX 5070 mobile variant.
The specs also confirm the increased 115W TDP, which we saw in another listing. Looks like NVIDIA is really upgrading the VRAM capacity of the RTX 5070 by deploying the 3 GB GDDR7 modules. So, it's also possible that we might see the GeForce RTX 5050 with 9 GB GDDR7 VRAM capacity in the near future.
