The latest leak shows that the upcoming Battlemage discrete GPU will have a 16 GB VRAM capacity, and it's likely the B770 due to featuring the same PCI-ID as we shared before.

Battlemage GPU With GPU ID "E221" Spotted in Linux Boot Log; Reveals 16 GB of VRAM Capacity for the Rumored Arc "B770"

The leaks on the upcoming Intel Battlemage GPU keep emerging these days. We recently saw Intel's BMG-G31 in an NBD Shipping manifest and also in the Compute Runtime via its supposed PCI Device IDs. Now, the new leak confirms that the upcoming Battlemage GPU will indeed utilize one of those IDs and will feature 16 GB VRAM capacity.

As spotted by @GawroskiT, the Linux Boot Log revealed the "BATTLEMAGE" PCI Device ID "E221", which is one of the four PCI IDs we saw in the Compute Runtime in July. This belongs to one of the variants of the BMG-G31, hinting at the Arc B770. While the "B770" naming isn't confirmed, this is likely going to be its official name (being a successor to A770), since it's a faster GPU than the existing Arc B580, which ships with a BMG-G21 die and 12 GB VRAM capacity. The boot log reveals that the upcoming Battlemage card will have 16 GB VRAM capacity, which is what we have been hearing for months.

16 GB VRAM indicates a 256-bit memory bus, and we know from various reports that the B770 is expected to feature 32 Xe2 cores. The fastest Arc Battlemage GPU currently, i.e., the B580, ships with 20 Xe2 cores, and therefore, the B770 will be a decent upgrade and will target that sweet spot 1440p gaming experience. Not much is known regarding its specifications, and even when it comes to its release, Intel hasn't revealed much.

The GPU is likely to be released before the end of this year and might be one of the first Intel dGPUs to get deployed in a laptop.
