The flagship Barlett Lake CPU was just spotted installed on a LGA 1700 motherboard, but does it work?

12-Core P-Core Only Intel Core 9 273PQE CPU Spotted for the First Time on a LGA 1700 Motherboard

While Intel's Bartlett Lake CPUs aren't designed for the consumer market, they are still compatible with mainstream LGA 1700 motherboards. We have previously listed the leaked specifications of all 12 SKUs of P-Core only Bartlett Lake chips, and if you remember, the Intel Core 9 273PQE is the flagship processor that is the only SKU with 12 Performance cores.

The consumer variant, Raptor Lake Refresh, doesn't have so many P-cores even on the flagship Core i9 14900K/KS that is limited to 8 Performance cores. However, unlike Raptor Lake/Refresh chips, the Bartlett Lake P-Core series doesn't feature any Efficient cores. That said, if you wanted to see if the chip is real, then here is the answer:

The user @wxnod posted a pic of Intel Core 9 273PQE, installed on a LGA 1700 motherboard. This appears to be an early engineering sample, and we can see its Batch Code, "X544L164", as well as the S-Spec Code "SA4Q9" mentioned on the IHS. The processor boasts a boost clock of up to 5.9 GHz and 36 MB L3 cache, according to the leaked specifications.

The motherboard appears to be a consumer LGA 1700 model, but we couldn't identify which model it is. Nonetheless, since Bartlett Lake is compatible with the LGA 1700 socket, these processors shouldn't have any problem running, given the motherboard has the BIOS to support them.

We have previously heard that some vendors will sell these in the DIY segment, as these won't be available through the official channel. It would have been great if Intel launched the P-Core-only chips to the mainstream market, as even a 10-core CPU like Core 7 253PE is able to trade blows with a 14-core Raptor Lake processor. The 12-Core chip should then be incredibly fast in MT performance as well.
