Path of Exile 2 has taken the gaming world by storm, with the game now officially being in Early Access. The game is already doing very well for itself, with a lot of people already reaching the current end-game until the developers add new content to the game. If you're just getting stuck in and discovering some of the newer resources added, then we will walk you through everything you need to know. This guide will be covering Spirit, what Spirit is, and what its used for in Path of Exile 2.
What is Spirit in Path of Exile 2?

While the Life and Mana pools are very self-explanatory, Spirit is a new resource that has been added to the game, and you don't really get any explanation for it. Spirit is used to fuel your long-term abilities or permanent buffs, such as minion summons, persistent self-buffs, and more. Spirit isn't something that you can funnel points into the way you can with your Mana and Life pools via the passive skill tree.
There are three main ways that you can get Spirit increases in Path of Exile 2. You'll get your first amount of Spirit relatively early into Act 1, with the item giving you 30 Spirit.
- Defeating The King of the Mists in Act 1 grants you 30 Spirit via a consumable
- Defeating Igdanduk the Bog Witch in Act 3 will grant you more Spirit via a consumable
- A Spirit-boosting consumable drops in the Golden Tomb in Act 2
- Specific gear gives you Spirit boosts
When it comes to the gear that gives you boosts to Spirits, it will typically be items such as a Sceptre, which is used by Witches. Witches are the class that typically have permanent summons depending on what build you go for. If you wield a Sceptre, you can see your Spirit boosted by 100, which is a great boost to get if you are running a minion summoning build.
While you can't get Spirit increases on the Passive Skill Tree, you can get upgrades that can lower the Spirit cost for ability reservations. You can also get this through Ascendancy skills, such as the Infernalist Witch "Beidat's Will" Ascendancy node which provides you with extra Spirit that scales alongside your health.
That's everything you need to know about Spirit in Path of Exile 2.
