Windows 11 has a very different taskbar from its predecessor, so you may not be comfortable with the new Power options. In this tutorial, I will show you different methods to shut down a Windows 11 system. There are multiple ways you can do this, and you can do whichever you find most convenient.

There are multiple ways you can shut down your Windows 11 computer. I will walk you through the different methods, and you can choose whichever you find the easiest.

Shut Down Windows 11 in Start

    1.  Click on the Windows icon on the taskbar.
    2.  Now click on the Power icon at the bottom right corner of the menu.
    3.  Select Shut Down.

WinX Menu

  1.  Right-click on the Windows icon to open the WinX Menu. (You can also use the shortcut keys Win + X)
  2.  Hover the cursor on the Shut down or sign out option and select Shut down.

Command Prompt

Step-1: Click on the Search icon (magnifying glass) on the taskbar.

Step-2: Type cmd and click Open.

Step-3: Type the following command and press Enter:

shutdown /s

Shortcut Keys

You can use the shortcut keys Alt + F4 to shut down your system as well. Just make sure that all your files are closed. Select Shut down from the drop-down menu and press OK.
