Want to note something down on the fly? Here's how you can instantly create a new note from anywhere using your iPhone or iPad. It's super easy and everyone should know this.

You Can Create a New Note Anywhere from iOS or iPadOS Running on iPhone and iPad, Here’s How it Works

Sometimes, we want to do something instantly. It's not that we want to, but sometimes the situation simply demands it. For example, you instantly want to record a voice memo. Just fire up Siri, ask the assistant to launch the Voice Memos app and away you go.

If you're someone who loves taking down notes from time to time and don't want to use Siri, then you will be delighted to learn that you can launch Notes anywhere at all. This is done with the inclusion of a dedicated Notes button in the Control Center. Wherever you are in iOS or iPadOS, just bring up (or down) Control Center, tap on the toggle switch and you're noting stuff instantly.

Tutorial

Step 1. First and foremost, launch the Settings app from your Home Screen.

Step 2. Now find Control Center and then tap on it to open.

Step 3. Under the More Controls section, find the entry called Notes.

Step 4. Tap on the + sign next to Notes to add it under the Included Controls section.

Step 5. Swipe down from the top right hand corner of the display and you will see the new Notes icon. Tap on it and you’re ready to take down a note.

If you’re using an iPad, you also have the option to enable the Quick Note feature as well. Just swipe in from the bottom right hand corner (default setting) and you’ll get a floating Notes window on which you can type anything or just scribble away using Apple Pencil.

But for those who are not huge fans of Quick Note and want to jump into the complete Notes app itself from anywhere, on both iPhone and iPad, then adding a dedicated new note toggle switch to Control Center is the way to go.

If you want to take things slightly further using this toggle switch, then tap and hold on the Notes button in Control Center. You'll be presented with more options, including the ability to start a new checklist, take a new photo for a note or scan a document.
